New Logos Website

We recently released our new Logos website.  Check it out! www.logoscambodia.org  We are still adding and updating content, but we’d love your opinion.  Let us know if there is there is anything missing from the website that you would like us to add. Send your suggestions to  jyoung@asianhope.org or mbelloni@asianhope.org

Elementary Pick-up – new and improved procedure!

In order to better supervise elementary children who attend Homework Club and After School Program activities, Logos will begin using the following procedure:

At 4:30 p.m., after the end of the activity, Supervisors will keep their elementary students together and escort them to the covered walkway, where they will stay until picked up.  Parents can meet their children there.  Any children not picked up at 4:30 will be handed over to Mr. Vannah, Logos’ transportation supervisor.  His office is at the main gate.

Mr. Vannah will then contact the parents that have not arrived yet and continue to supervise the students who are waiting for the late van. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children promptly at 4:30 p.m. All elementary students must be off campus by 5:00 p.m.

This new procedure will begin Wednesday, March 6.

Please help us keep your students safe!

Toys on Campus

As K’mai New Year comes closer, many children may be interested in playing with water guns and other such toys.  As a reminder, children should not bring toys to school, except as allowed by the teacher.  Specifically Nerf guns and water pistols are not to be brought to school.

Elementary Talent Show

The Elementary Talent Show is coming up on March 22, from 5:00-6:00 pm, in the MPR. Tickets will be $1. Thank you to all those who auditioned.  The acts have been selected and are now practicing for the performance.  Hope you all can attend and enjoy watching these talented students!  If your children are participating, please remind them to continue to practice in order to be ready for their performance.

Faculty Appreciation Week is March 25th-29th!

An information letter about Faculty Appreciation Week has been sent to each family. Please read the information and make plans to participate so we can make this year’s Appreciation Week really special for our teachers and faculty.

As noted in the letter, the Donation Box is in the office. Any funds collected will help cover the cost of special items LPA will purchase during Appreciation Week.

Next week, you will receive a letter regarding Wednesday, March 27, “Favorite Things Day”. On Favorite Things Day, you and your child(ren) are encouraged to bring a note or a special treat to the teachers and faculty members on your list.

Logos Parent Association (LPA) – Parents in Prayer

Logos is blessed to have caring parents and an active parent association – LPA! Groups of LPA parents gather together regularly to pray for the needs of the school, the Logos community, staff, teachers and students.

Three different prayer groups meet to pray in three different languages:

The English Language group meets on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, from 1:30-3:00pm in the Library Conference Room.  The group is led by Kandy Huynh (phuynh@readmail.biz).

The Khmer Language group meets every other Friday, from 5:30-6:30pm in the Multipurpose Room.  Please contact Tito for details (titoandsopheap@gmail.com).

The Korean Language group meets every Friday, from 8:00-9:30am in the Library Meeting Room.  Contact Jung Hwa Park for more information (onnew@hanmail.net).

Formerly known as Moms in Prayer, Parents in Prayer is open to both moms and dads.  We would love to have you join us!

Note from School Nurse

Dear Parents, this past weekend I have been horrified at the multiple news reports regarding online games, YouTube Kids, and other sites many children regularly visit with inserted imagery suggesting suicide. Innocently, our Logos children requested a song to be played in the gym which was promptly turned off after staff realized the song was about suicide. Disturbingly, many of children already knew the song and were naively singing along! The song was innocently entitled theThe Muffin Song.

The momo-suicide-game can hack sites like Whats App, YouTubeKids, YouTube, Fortnite, Peppa Pig, Minecraft, and Facebook!. Sometimes it pops up like an advertisement or a chat window that kids can click. The hack content is disturbing. If no one told me, I would never had believed it possible. I feel I should share it with you parents to help promote awareness among the Logos community. Please talk with your children aboutonline safety and encourage them to talk with you immediately if they see or hear something they feel is inappropriate. If you know of other site or advertisements, please feel free to let me know and share it with other parents during drop off/pick up times. Let’s work together to protect our children!

On another topic, Vision Screening is happening next week for Second and Fifth graders. This year the Fifth graders will also have a scoliosis screening and a note will be sent home with both results.

Traffic Flow at Logos

Dear Logos Community,

Here is a reminder for traffic flow when dropping off or picking up students. There is a lot of traffic that travels in front of Logos at these times, so it is imperative that we follow standard guidelines to minimize traffic congestion and frustration.

  • Remember to drive north to south (away from Camko City road) when dropping students off or picking them up.
  •   If you would like to park in the new gravel parking lot in the morning, please make sure you park well into the parking lot so that you do not block pull through traffic.
  • You may still drop your child(ren) off in front of the main gate or at the new parking lot.
  •  Parents, if you send a driver to drop off or pick up your child(ren) please remind him/her of these procedures. Just one car going the wrong direction can cause major congestion.

If you have any questions see us in the office.Thank you for your understanding.
